Black Skin Care Products
At first we might be tempted to think that all skin is the same, just a different color. And that is true, to a point. Most skin will have similar attributes and issues. Three of the most common are dry skin, oily skin, and damaged skin. These can occur on any color of skin. But it is also true that black skin has different characteristics. To best care for these characteristics find black skin care products specifically for dark skin.
Black skin differs from white skin in a few specific ways. For one thing it does age more slowly than white skin due to the pigment which resists sun damage. But, just like white skin, black skin will get saggy with age so any product that can improve elasticity will be beneficial.
While it might seem odd to some people, even people with dark skin need to use sunscreen everyday. Sun is the number one factor in sun damage and premature aging of your skin. This is true no matter what color you are.
You should never go outside in the sun without wearing sunscreen. If you are going to be out in the sun for an extended period of time you should also wear a hat and other protective clothing.
Proper nutrition is also important if you want to keep your skin healthy. And again, this transcends race. Our bodies need the proper nutrition to maintain health, both on the inside and on the outside. If you want healthy skin make sure you give your body all the nutrients it needs to stay healthy.
You also need to keep your body hydrated. Providing your body with at least eight glasses of water a day will help keep your body hydrated and your skin moisturized.
Now that you've taken care of the inside of your body, it's time to think about what products you need to apply to the outside of your body.
Many blacks have used products such as shea and cocoa butter for their skin care needs. You have to be careful though that these products aren't overly processed. They work best in their natural, raw state and if they are processed they will lose a lot of their effectiveness.
When you are on the hunt for skin care products there are a few things you need to keep in mind. For one thing what type of skin do you have? Is your skin overly dry? Do you suffer from oily skin and have frequent, and possibly severe, acne outbreaks? Or maybe you're one of the 'lucky ones' who has combination skin.
Make sure you know what your unique skin care requirements are and look for products that can address those unique needs.
Another thing you should keep in mind when looking for skin care products is that you want to find products that don't contain a lot of harmful chemicals. If you can find organic products that is probably the best. And be careful, many companies will try to make it seem like their product is organic when it's not. They will even make their label look like a certification seal when it's not.
Taking care of your skin, no matter what color it is doesn't have to be a challenge. Just look for the right skin care products for your skin type, and remember, there are plenty of black skin care products to choose from.

Dry Facial Skin
When I was younger many of my friends were suffering from acne and I didn't. I had the opposite problem, dry skin. My friends thought I was lucky, but I knew better. I knew that they would likely outgrow their acne stage but I would have to deal with my dry skin for the rest of my life. Having dry facial skin presents unique challenges when it comes to finding proper skin care products. Here is some of what I've learned.
1. Be very careful of what types of soaps you use on your face. You need to find a soap that is gentle and has a moisturizer. Ideally you should use a totally organic product since, believe it or not, many store bought cosmetics including moisturizers have very harmful chemicals in them. Many of the chemicals in American made cosmetics have actually been banned from use in Europe.
2. Limit your exposure to extreme temperatures. Too much heat and sun in the summer can be just as damaging as too much cold in the winter. Whenever you are outside in extreme conditions take care of your skin.
In the hot summer months use sunscreen and wear hats and other protective clothing. In the cold winter months make sure to protect your skin from the biting winds by using scarves and gloves.
3. Get plenty of exercise. It's important that you always remember that a healthy looking outside starts with a healthy inside. Exercise helps you skin in a couple of ways. For one thing it will increase blood flow which will give your skin that radiant glow that we all want to have.
Secondly, when you sweat you are getting rid of harmful toxins in your body. By exercising, and sweating, several times a week you are preventing the buildup of these toxins.
4. Drink plenty of water. Remember, all your healthy skin care starts on the inside. If you want to keep your skin properly moisturized you need to keep your body properly hydrated. Drink about eight glasses of water every day.
5. Find, and use, a good lotion, 'good' being the operative word. Like I mentioned above many of the products you buy at the store contain harmful chemicals. The minimum problem with them is that they simply don't work. The worst problem is that there is mounting evidence that these products can actually cause cancer.
When looking for good skin care products try to find those that are organic. When it comes to choosing an organic product don't pay too much attention to the label, since many companies will try to make it appear their product is organic when it isn't.
Instead pay close attention to the ingredients. That will give you a better idea of what is truly in that product. Basically, if you see something listed and you have never heard of it, or can't pronounce it, stay away.
Use these tips and you can make real progress in battling your dry facial skin. Having dry skin can be challenging to deal with, but it's not impossible.

Best Way To Relieve Sciatic Nerve Pain
The sciatic nerve is almost 3 feet long and it goes from the bottom of your spine down the back of your leg, right down to the tips of your toes. It is the biggest nerve in your body. Sciatica pain is most often caused by a bulging disk.
As the disk bulges it can cause irritation of the sciatic nerve, which causes the pain. People can actually have bulging disks and not experience any pain, but when there is pain, it can be quite extreme and it runs through your buttocks and down the back of your thigh. The pain only occurs on one side of your body.
People are frequently mis-diagnosed and any back pain is labeled as sciatica. In reality there are many other conditions that can cause back and leg pain. It is only sciatica if the sciatic nerve is irritated, otherwise it's something else entirely.
Your doctor can perform tests to determine if you pain is actually sciatica or something else. It's important to get the problem accurately diagnosed in order to provide the proper treatment.
Anyone who has ever suffered from sciatica knows how excruciatingly painful this condition can be. If you are a sufferer the only thing on your mind is to find a way to relieve sciatic nerve pain.
Prescription drugs to relieve pain are expensive, can have potentially dangerous side effects, and may even be addictive, and if you don't relieve the underlying problem you will suffer from continual flareups. Besides you won't be able to stay on the pills forever, and then what?
It's always better to get the proper diagnosis and treatment for your pain, by addressing the cause and not just relieving the symptoms you will hopefully reduce any further painful flareups.
Many people would rather find natural forms of relief and prevention instead of using drugs that just mask the pain but don't do anything to cure the problem.
Keeping your muscles flexible and strong with exercise can help prevent sciatica. Also any low impact activities such as walking, swimming, bike riding, etc, can help by increasing blood circulation.
A better option for many sciatica sufferers is to use various physical therapies to help prevent painful flareups.
Many people have had great success in keeping sciatica pain at bay by implementing stretching, yoga, pilates, or a combination of all three into their daily routine.
These stretching exercises will help keep your muscles loose and increase the amount of space in between each vertebrae. Stretching back, buttock, and leg muscles can relieve sciatica.
Many health care professionals also advise exercises to strengthen the lower back muscles. The idea is to form a 'muscular girdle' that will help keep your discs in proper alignment. And the exercise will provide the added benefit of improving your overall health.
The most important thing I want you to take away from this article is that there are other ways to relieve sciatic nerve pain besides resorting to prescription drugs. Find one, or more, methods that work for you. Your body will thank you!

1. Healthy diet for a healthy skin.
Fruits and vegetables are the best ingredients for your diet to maintain a healthy skin. Rather than eating junk foods it is better that you add varieties of fruits, vegetables and even nuts for your snacks. You can create a sweet juice out of the fruits if you are not used to eating it whole.

In order to combat the skin diseases and toxins that may attack your body, you can drink vitamins and supplements everyday. There are also some supplements that are best for fighting against acne, such as the Maca and the Manuka honey.
Above all other tips, you can make use of natural products for your skin. Avoid purchasing certain skin products not approved by your dermatologist because they contain chemicals that may just threaten your skin. Herbal soap will help you pacify the production of too much oil in your skin.

Skin care treatment for the most common skin conditions
A glowing and healthy skin is an asset. Skin is not all about beauty but also health. So, skin care treatment should be treated with all seriousness. If you develop a skin related dilemma, you need an appropriate skin care treatment. Skin care treatment, for any skin disorder, starts with actions that are aimed at prevention of the disorder (what we can also call as proactive or preventive skin care treatment). Building and following basic skin care procedures is what one could classify as preventive/proactive skin care treatment. Skin disorders can occur even if you have followed this preventive skin care treatment. Preventive skin care treatment just reduces the probability of occurrence. Let's check the skin care treatment for some of the common skin conditions.
Acne is one of the most common problems. Again, the first type of skin care treatment is to control acne and prevent it from getting worse. So avoid tight clothes; they are known to cause body acne by trapping sweat. Do not touch the blemishes over and over again (rather don't touch them at all), you might end up aggravating the condition. Also, do not try to scrub too hard or squeeze them. Use of mild cleansers is a recommended skin care treatment for acne. Obtain an over-the-counter skin care treatment for faster treatment of acne.
Skin care treatment of dry skin is generally easy. Moisturizers, applied in the right way and in the right quantity, are the best form of skin care treatment for dry skin. For best results, apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Also, do not apply too much or too little moisturizer. In exceptional cases, where you don't notice any improvements in 3-4 weeks, you might have to visit your dermatologist for skin care treatment of your dry skin.
Brown spots, which appear on sun-exposed areas of skin i.e. face and hands, are caused by over-exposure to UV radiations. As a skin care treatment for brown spots, use a sunscreen lotion which has a high SPF (sun protection factor), say 15. This should be used irrespective of weather - sunny/cloudy. Another form of skin care treatment is covering up the exposed areas with clothing (caps, full sleeved shirts/t-shirts, and umbrella).
Also, if the general skin care treatment or the over-the-counter medication is not working for you, you should immediately consult your dermatologist for professional skin care treatment. You should also inform the doctor about the skin care treatment that you have undertaken till that time. So take the details of the till-date skin care treatment (and products) along with you. Based on the skin condition and the details of your till-date skin care treatment, the dermatologist will prescribe a skin care treatment e.g. oral antibiotics, chemical peels, retinoid etc and you will be on your way to recovery.

Skin care cosmetic - Useful or harmful?
A beautiful and healthy skin is a big confidence booster. Some people are naturally beautiful and hence don't use any 'skin care cosmetic'. Then there are others, who don't use skin care cosmetic due to their laziness. Still some feel that skin care cosmetic can harm their skin, and hence abandon the use of any kind of skin care cosmetic. However, there are a large number of people who do use skin care cosmetic (that's why the business of skin care cosmetic is prospering).
So, is skin care cosmetic useful, or is it harmful? Well, the opinions seem divided. However, one thing is for sure - Looking beautiful is surely nice and very desirable. Also, too much skin care cosmetic can surely be harmful (as such, excess of anything is harmful). So, what does one do?
The first thing is to formulate (and follow) a skin care routine that will help keep your skin healthy and disease-free. The general recommendation is to cleanse and moisturize everyday, and tone and exfoliate occasionally (as and when needed).
Next thing is the skin care cosmetics that you would be using additionally (as beauty enhancers). These skin care cosmetics could either be part of your skin care routine or be applied only on special occasions (e.g. when attending a party etc).
The most important thing with skin care cosmetic is its selection. Here is a set of rules that you should use when selecting any skin care cosmetic:
* The general rule is to use products that suit your skin type. This is true both for the routine products and for the skin care cosmetic. So check the label to see what it says e.g. 'for dry skin only' or 'for all skin types' etc.
* Test the skin care cosmetic before using it. This can be done by applying the skin care cosmetic on a small patch of skin e.g. ear lobes and checking the reaction of your skin to the product
* Check the ingredients of the skin care cosmetic for chemicals that you are allergic to. Do not use products that are very harsh on skin e.g. products with high alcohol concentrations; such cosmetics might work for once but cause a long-lasting damage to your skin.
* 'More isn't better'. Ensure that you apply the products in right quantity (neither less not more). Also, be gentle with your skin and follow the right procedures for application of skin care products. Rubbing too hard or trying to squeeze a pimple can lead to permanent damage to your skin.
* Finally, if you have a skin disorder e.g. acne etc, you should consult your dermatologist before using any skin care cosmetic.

Acne skin care
Acne is defined as a diseased condition of the skin that involves the hair and oil glands. It is characterized by pimples, black/white heads, reddishness and cysts. Face acne can spoil your appearance to a great extent and body acne can really ruin your day by making you very uncomfortable. Considering acne as a minor problem, some people tend to totally discard the topic of 'Acne skin care'. However, the importance of 'Acne skin care' cannot be undermined in any way.
Acne skin care should really start much before the acne actually appears. 'Acne skin care' is more about being proactive than reactive. Acne skin care is about being aware of preventive measures. Acne skin care is - following daily skin care routines with complete discipline. So let's have a look at how 'acne skin care' can be applied to our daily routine.
'Acne skin care' starts with the most basic thing - cleanliness. So morning showers are the most basic way of keeping the skin clean. In fact, a lot of people take night showers too (that not only helps in keeping your skin clean but also provides relaxation to your body and enables a good sleep). If you are living in a hot and/or humid place, a night shower becomes a must. In fact, a shower is recommended after any activity that causes high levels of sweat to develop. It's a very effective 'acne skin care' technique.
However, acne skin care is not about just showers. Acne skin care is also about wearing clean clothes and sleeping on clean pillows. Moreover, too tight clothes can cause sweat to accumulate quickly; so soft and comfortable cotton clothes are recommended, especially if you already have acne. In the same sense, 'acne skin care' also advocates regular cleaning of your make-up brush and any equipment that you use on your body.
Besides that, you should also use a mild, water-soluble, oil-free and soap-free cleanser for keeping your face, neck and arms clean. Cleansing is the most important part of any acne skin care routine. Cleaners are the easiest and the most effective way of removing dirt, grease, pollutants and excess oil from your skin; thus reducing the probability of acne occurrence. Acne skin care also recommends removing your make up using a make up remover, and this should happen before you go to bed (not in the morning).
If you already have acne, do not try to touch them or squeeze them; it can lead to permanent scars. 'Acne skin care' advocates gentle cleansing and cleaning of the affected area using an over-the-counter medication and a clean/soft cotton pad. There are various acne skin care creams and lotions available over-the-counter (a lot of these acne skin care products are actually cleansers). However, if these 'acne skin care' measures don't give you the desired results, contact a dermatologist for 'acne skin care' advice and treatment.

Acne and its treatment
Acne is a menace. However, it's not something that cannot be tackled. There are loads of acne skin care products around. We can classify acne skin care products into 3 broad categories -
* Preventive or general acne skin care products
* Over-the-counter, specialized acne skin care products
* On-prescription acne skin care products.
The general acne skin care products are the ones that are used as acne-prevention measure. These include cleansers, make-up removers and similar products that help prevent acne. In the real sense, these acne skin care products are just those that should anyway be part of your daily routine. However, some of these are more oriented to act like an acne skin care product. These acne skin care products act against the causes of acne e.g. limiting the production of sebum/oil and preventing clogging of skin pores. Basically, these acne skin care products prevent the oil from getting trapped in pores and hence hamper the growth of bacteria that lead to acne. The general acne skin care products also include exfoliation products like skin peels. These work towards removing dead skin cells, hence reducing the possibility of pore-clogging and bacteria development.
Then there are specialized acne skin care products that are available over-the-counter i.e. without the need of a prescription. These include products like vanishing creams which extract the extra oil from the skin. Most of these acne skin care products are based on benzyl peroxide and salicylic acid, both of which are the enemies of bacteria (and hence acne). You should start with a product that has lower concentration of benzyl peroxide (e.g. 5%) and see how your skin responds to it. Alpha-hydroxyl-acid based moisturizers are also popular as acne skin care products. You might have to try a few, before you zero-in on the acne skin care product that is effective for you. If nothing seems to work, you should contact a dermatologist.
On-prescription acne skin care products are the ones that are prescribed by a dermatologist. This can include ointments that can be applied on the affected area or oral antibiotics or just any topical treatment. Dermatologist could also suggest a minor surgical procedure to remove the contents of pustules. However, never try to squeeze or do this by yourself, it can lead to permanent damage of your skin. Your doctor could also prescribe a hormone-based treatment (since hormonal changes are also known to cause acne). Such acne skin care products are known to be very effective in some cases.
So, with all those acne skin care products, tackling acne is not that difficult.

What is Natural skin care?
Put simply, 'natural skin care' is caring for your skin in a natural and chemical-free way. 'Natural skin care' advocates enabling the skin to take care of itself (without any assistance from synthetic materials/ chemicals). 'Natural skin care' is about inculcation of good habits in the way you lead your day to day life. A lot of natural skin care measures are actually the same as those for body care in general.
So let's see what these natural skin care measures are.
Well the first and the foremost natural skin care measure is - 'Drink a lot of water'. Around 8 glasses of water is a must everyday. Water helps in flushing out the toxins from the body, in a natural way. It helps in the overall upkeep of the body and promotes good health for all organs (not just skin).
General cleanliness is another inexpensive way of natural skin care. Daily shower, wearing clean clothes and sleeping on a clean mattress/pillow are all part of general cleanliness. After all, clean skin is the key to keeping the skin disorders at bay.
Regular exercise is the next thing on the cards. Exercise increases the flow of blood that helps in getting rid of body toxins and keeping you healthy. Exercise also helps in beating stress which is the worst enemy of good health.
Healthy food and eating habits are also recommended for natural skin care. Some type of food (e.g. oily food) is know to cause acne and should be avoided as much as possible. Your diet should be a healthy mix of various nutrient providing foods. Raw fruits and vegetables are known to provide freshness to your body and help in getting rid of body toxins.
A good sleep is also instrumental in maintaining good health and in beating stress. As a natural skin care measure, a good sleep delays slacking of skin.
Beating stress is another natural skin care therapy. Stress causes overall damage to body and health. Drinking a lot of water, getting a sound sleep and exercise has already been mentioned as stress busters. Indulging in a warm bubble bath, listening to music and playing your favourite sport are also good ways of beating stress. Yoga is yet another way of beating stress; it is fast gaining popularity amongst the masses.
Avoiding excessive exposure to sun (by wearing long sleeved clothes, hat and umbrella etc), is another natural skin care strategy. Sunscreen lotions are also recommended as necessary.
A lot of traditional and home made natural skin care products/ measures are also known to be very effective. Such measures are not only natural and easy-to-follow, but also relatively inexpensive.
Besides that, a lot of natural skin care products are available in the commercial market. These include things like lavender oil, aloe vera etc., which don't have any side effects.
